About this role
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a part-time Ultrasound Technologist at its La Grange, Illinois campus to perform diagnostic sonography across a range of imaging modalities.
### What you'll do
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams — abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, musculoskeletal, pediatric, and breast — in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols.
- Position patients and manipulate transducers and technical factors to acquire optimal images, waveforms, and Doppler data for radiologist interpretation.
- Complete the ultrasound technologist worksheet with accurate, concise documentation of exam findings to support radiologist review and dictation.
- Maintain timely, accurate records in the EMR and PACS systems throughout each exam encounter.
- Explain procedures to patients across all age groups — infant through geriatric — ensuring comfort, cooperation, and privacy.
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
### What we're looking for
- Active registry in at least one of the following: RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB/GYN, RDMS-PS, RVS, RVT, RT(VS)(ARRT), RT(BS)(ARRT), or RMSKS.
- BLS/CPR certification (required at time of hire).
- Completion of a Technical/Vocational or Associate-level sonography program that qualified the candidate to sit for ARDMS or ARRT boards.
- Solid knowledge of ultrasound physics, cross-sectional anatomy, vascular anatomy, and Doppler techniques sufficient for independent scanning to radiologist standards.
- Proficiency with PACS applications and EMR systems; ability to adapt quickly to departmental software.
- 1+ year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred; specialized experience in breast, prostate, OR, pediatric, neuro, or vascular sonography is a plus.

- Hourly pay range: $31.03 – $57.72 (annualized approximately $64,500 – $120,000 for full-time equivalent).
