About this role
A Medication History Advocate (Pharmacy Technician IV – Specialist) at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth serves patients at the Glendale Heights, Illinois campus on a PRN weekend day schedule.
### What you'll do
- Collect accurate medication histories aligned with best practices to support the pharmacist-led medication reconciliation process.
- Triage medication history workload across multiple campuses and patient care units.
- Train pharmacy and clinical staff in standardized medication history collection practices and documentation tools.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the medication history specialty area, resolving complex issues and ensuring process integrity.
- Monitor specialty program performance across shifts and teams; participate in audits and continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, clinical staff, and pharmacy leadership to support cross-functional medication safety initiatives.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Active pharmacy technician registration or licensure per Illinois State Board of Pharmacy requirements.
- Proficiency in hospital computer systems, automation, and pharmacy technology platforms.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ability to maintain accurate, complete records.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, follow up on, and resolve medication discrepancies.
- Basic project management skills and the ability to develop training materials and assess technician competency.
