Surgical Scheduler Practice Based

A Surgical Scheduler (Practice-Based) at AdventHealth coordinates surgical and home health scheduling operations from a practice office in Riverview, Florida. ### What you'll do - Collect patient clinical, demographic, and insurance data; verify payer coverage and Medicare eligibility for each patient - Enter referrals into the scheduling system, verify required information prior to admission, and maintain accurate reference files - Serve as liaison between facility clinicians and clinical teams to ensure timely patient scheduling and track referral status - Coordinate receipt of referrals by conducting initial phone evaluations for appropriateness of home health services - Oversee daily clerical operations including data entry accuracy, phone coverage, and clinical records management - Liaise with the central billing office to resolve billing issues and ensure timely claim submission ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - 1+ year of experience in surgery scheduling (required) - Bilingual in English and Spanish (required) - Ability to assign, delegate, and supervise clerical staff responsibilities - Competency in payer verification processes including Medicare and commercial insurance ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour ($34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Pet benefits and whole-person well-being resources ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care.
