AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is hiring a full-time, day-shift Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical Orthopedic Unit in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, and spiritual factors.
- Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized care plans in response to patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions and maintaining safety protocols.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to support compliance and recovery.
- Collaborate with physicians, medical staff, and ancillary departments to coordinate care and ensure effective communication.
- Respond promptly to code situations, provide stabilizing interventions, and document all care activities accurately in the medical record.
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- At least 1 year of acute care hospital experience preferred; new graduates considered.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and critical-thinking skills for high-acuity patient management.
- Basic computer proficiency and fluency in English (written and verbal).
