About this role

A Monitor Technician (PRN) position is available at AdventHealth Port Charlotte, a faith-based health system located in Port Charlotte, Florida. ### What you'll do - Identify, prioritize, and transcribe physician orders; complete patient Kardex and care maps with accurate requisitions - Notify physicians and departments of relevant patient information and maintain accurate chart, electronic record, and computer entries - Perform indirect patient care duties related to patient admission, transfer, and discharge - Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately in emergency situations - Post pertinent patient data in a timely manner and support departmental quality standards and performance improvement initiatives - Secure medications upon arrival to the unit floor by placing them in the designated secure area ### What we're looking for - Monitor technician experience or successful completion of a Monitor Technician training program or equivalent (required) - Must pass a proficiency exam in EKG (required) - Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing (required) - Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required) - Strong organizational, computer, and typing skills (required) - National Association Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) certification (preferred) ### What's included - Pay range: $15.87–$25.38 per hour (~$33,010–$52,790 annualized) - PRN/per-diem scheduling with day shifts - Mission-driven work environment within a values-centered health system ### About the practice AdventHealth Port Charlotte is part of the AdventHealth system, a nationally recognized faith-based, not-for-profit health network.
