About this role
AdventHealth Ottawa is hiring a contract ICU Registered Nurse for night shift at its acute care hospital in Ottawa, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Conduct ongoing assessments of ICU patients, analyze data, and develop individualized, evidence-based care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement and document plan-of-care interventions in a safe, timely, and appropriate manner.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans based on assessed learning needs.
- Ensure safe handoff communication and documentation at every transition of care.
- Follow CDC isolation guidelines, apply appropriate PPE, and enforce infection-control and safety regulations.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — required.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting — required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing — required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing — preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — required.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification — preferred.
- Strong abstract reasoning skills to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise care plans based on outcomes.
