About this role

A Surgical Scheduler at AdventHealth Riverview coordinates and manages the operating room surgical schedule for a full-service hospital campus in Riverview, Florida. ### What you'll do - Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient surgeries while collecting demographic, insurance, and clinical information with minimal transfers or callbacks - Coordinate add-on cases with designated departments when patients are not yet admitted, and send case reservations within established timeframes - Prepare and scrutinize the advance surgical schedule, communicating updates to the Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Admissions, and surgeons - Respond to inquiries via telephone, intercom, and direct communication related to surgery scheduling and the main OR suite - Maintain hospital schedules through calls, faxes, and EHR documentation; assist with orientation of new staff as needed ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting (required) - Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (required) - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (required) - 1+ year of EHR scheduling experience (preferred) - BLS/CPR certification (preferred) ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hr (~$34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Whole-person well-being and mental health support resources ### About the practice AdventHealth Riverview is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, nonprofit health network operating across multiple states. This role operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., supporting a high-volume OR scheduling function.
