AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a PRN Registered Respiratory Therapist III (RRT) to join its acute care respiratory team in Wesley Chapel, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Recommend and adjust respiratory care plans based on documented medical necessity, established protocols, and clinical data including pulse oximetry, peak flow, chest X-ray, and lab results.
- Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation, determining ventilator mode and settings and reassessing the patient-ventilator interface every four hours.
- Instruct and coach patients before, during, and after treatment delivery, managing and preventing side effects throughout the care episode.
- Assess respiratory status continuously and reprioritize therapy in response to immediate or emerging patient needs.
- Serve as a clinical resource and educator for cardiopulmonary staff, nursing colleagues, patients, and families, including supervision of student preceptorship programs.
### What we're looking for
- Active RRT credential through NBRC and current Florida Respiratory Therapist licensure.
- Minimum 3 years of hospital experience as an RRT, with expertise in blood gas laboratory management.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required; S.T.A.B.L.E. certification preferred.
- Competency in patient care across all age groups: neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Proficiency in intubation, airway management, ventilator management, and arterial line placement preferred.
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Science required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
### What's included
- Hourly pay range of $26.08–$48.50 (annualized $54,246–$100,880 at 2,080 hours).
- PRN schedule with day-shift availability.
