About this role
A PRN Certified Medical Assistant at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach supports daily clinical operations at an outpatient clinic in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, document visit reasons, patient history, and allergies per nursing protocols
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for processing
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures while maintaining open communication for quality care
- Audit ordered tests to ensure timely receipt and appropriate follow-up of results
- Monitor nursing supplies and equipment functionality, reporting maintenance needs to leadership
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day clinic operations, assessing and resolving issues as they arise
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of vital signs, body substance isolation, and specimen collection
- Minimum 1 year of related medical assistant experience (preferred)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
### What's included
- Pay range: $17.11–$27.38 per hour ($35,589–$56,950 annualized equivalent)
- PRN/per-diem schedule — Monday through Friday, day shifts only (7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
- No weekend or holiday shifts
- This is a PRN role and is not benefits-eligible
