About this role
AdventHealth for Children is hiring a full-time Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner for the Pediatric ICU (PICU), based at 601 E Rollins St in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Design, implement, and coordinate orientation programs for nurses and ancillary staff new to the PICU using ANPD standards of practice and the NPD Practice Model.
- Develop and manage ongoing competency validation activities, including coaching, simulation, and objective/subjective performance assessments.
- Create evidence-based educational programs rooted in adult learning principles to support continuing education, in-service training, and lifelong professional development.
- Lead quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives using the PDSA framework, and disseminate findings through educational activities.
- Support the preceptor program at the unit level and promote nursing certification and advanced formal education.
- Collaborate with academic partners to facilitate student placements and foster a positive clinical learning environment.
### What we're looking for
- Active RN licensure in the state of Florida.
- Experience in nursing professional development, staff education, or a related clinical educator role.
- Familiarity with ANPD standards of practice and the NPD Practice Model.
- Competency in adult learning principles, needs assessment, and gap analysis methodologies.
- Ability to facilitate simulation-based learning and objective competency assessments.
- Experience supporting evidence-based practice, quality improvement, or nursing research initiatives preferred.
