About this role
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a part-time Clinical Chaplain to provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and staff at its hospital campus in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Deliver spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and staff across inpatient and behavioral health units
- Provide Night on Call (NOC) and Weekend on Call (WOC) coverage; respond to emergency codes (Code Blue, Code Green)
- Conduct pre-surgical visits and follow up with surgical patients within 24 hours post-op
- Lead Sunday services at the Behavioral Health unit and Chapel Services as required
- Assist with Critical Incident Stress Debriefing sessions and clinical staff support groups
- Maintain collaborative relationships with the interdisciplinary care team and local clergy
### What we're looking for
- Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate theological degree (72-hour minimum) meeting APC Board Certification requirements
- Minimum 4 units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), Level 1 and Level 2 engaged
- 1+ year of pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience (preferred)
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) credential and Ecclesiastical Endorsement (preferred)
- Proficiency in English communication; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR systems (Cerner preferred)
- Ability to engage effectively with individuals of diverse religious, cultural, and educational backgrounds
