Medical Lab Scientist II

AdventHealth Winter Garden is hiring a full-time Medical Lab Scientist II for its clinical laboratory, located in Winter Garden, Florida. ### What you'll do - Perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection, biological specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and inventory control - Execute laboratory tests and analytical procedures accurately per established standard operating procedures - Complete post-analytical activities including result reporting and technical support to clinical staff - Participate in proficiency testing and performance improvement activities in compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards - Preceptor new employees and students, documenting orientation and training appropriately - Evaluate new laboratory techniques and assist with data collection and special projects ### What we're looking for - Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (or qualifying equivalency) - Completion of an ABHES- or CAAHEP-approved clinical laboratory training program, or documented equivalent military laboratory training - 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience (preferred) - Ability to handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, and hazardous chemicals safely - Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical skills - Proficiency with computer systems for patient documentation and testing records ### What's included - Sign-on bonus: up to $10,000 - Relocation bonus: up to $3,000 - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - CME and career development resources ### About the practice AdventHealth Winter Garden is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, nonprofit health network operating across multiple states. The facility at 2000 Fowler Grove Blvd serves the greater Winter Garden community with a full-service clinical laboratory supporting inpatient and outpatient care. The laboratory team operates on a day-shift schedule (1400–2230, M–F) with every third weekend rotation.
