Surgical Scheduler

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a part-time Surgical Scheduler at its hospital campus in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. ### What you'll do - Schedule, cancel, and reschedule surgical cases using physician-office-designated methods, collecting scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information with minimal transfers or callbacks. - Prepare and distribute the advance surgical schedule, scrutinize tentative schedules, and coordinate with surgeons, Charge Nurses, Team Leaders, and Admissions to resolve conflicts. - Notify designated departments of add-on cases for patients not yet admitted, and send case reservations within established timeframes. - Respond to inquiries via telephone, intercom, and direct communication regarding surgical scheduling and the main OR suite. - Maintain hospital schedules through calls, faxes, and EHR documentation, and assist with staff orientation as needed. ### What we're looking for - Minimum 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting (required). - Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office; EHR scheduling experience preferred. - High school diploma or equivalent (required). - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to document accurately and concisely. - BLS/CPR certification preferred. ### What's included - Pay range: $17.40–$27.84/hour (~$36,192–$57,907 annualized). - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective day one. - Paid time off from day one and 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - 403(b) retirement plan. - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support. ### About the practice AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is a full-service acute care hospital located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, serving the greater Kansas City metro area.
