AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is hiring a PRN Clinical Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral care across its inpatient hospital in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Assess spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff and integrate findings into holistic care plans through interdisciplinary conferences.
- Provide active listening, emotional support, and culturally appropriate pastoral counseling to patients and loved ones during hospitalization.
- Respond to code blues and emergencies, coordinating family notification and liaising with clinical staff and legal authorities.
- Assist patients and families navigating major health decisions involving moral, medical, and ethical considerations.
- Document all pastoral activities in the electronic medical record in compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.
- Mentor chaplain interns and residents as assigned.
### What we're looking for
- Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate theological degree (72-hour minimum) meeting APC Board Certification qualification requirements.
- Minimum 4 units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (Level 1 and Level 2 engaged).
- 1+ year of pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience preferred.
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) credential preferred; Ecclesiastical Endorsement Certificate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff across diverse religious, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Cerner preferred) and standard hospital compliance requirements.
### What's included
- Pay range: $26.29–$48.91/hour (annualized approximately $54,683–$101,733 based on hours worked).
- PRN/per-diem role; no benefits eligibility.
- Shift coverage: 5 PM–8 AM with weekend availability required.
