Certified Medical Assistant Urgent Care PRN Ocala

AdventHealth Centra Care in Ocala, FL is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for PRN weekend day shifts at its urgent care clinic on SW College Road. ### What you'll do - Perform clinical check-in assessments, document vital signs, and screen for signs of abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines. - Administer treatments and medications as ordered by the provider and respond to clinical emergencies and triage situations. - Conduct diagnostic and occupational medicine testing including EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, and pulse oximetry; complete forensic collections per DOT and state guidelines. - Complete patient check-out duties and relay discharge instructions and care information to patients and families. - Maintain infection prevention practices per CDC guidelines, use PPE appropriately, and complete Quality Control checklists. - Train newly hired clinical staff and participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives. ### What we're looking for - Active certification as a CMA, CCMA, CMAC, NCMA, RMA, NRCMA, or Licensed Paramedic (required). - BLS/CPR certification (required). - Minimum 1 year of related work experience or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with completed externship. - 6 months of relevant experience within an AdventHealth facility. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. ### What's included - Pay range: $17.11–$27.38/hour (~$35,589–$56,950 annualized). - PRN weekend day shift scheduling flexibility. - Work within a mission-driven, faith-based health system with a strong team culture. ### About the practice AdventHealth Centra Care operates a network of urgent care centers across Florida, providing accessible, patient-centered care for non-emergency conditions.
