Free Standing ED Consumer Access Specialist

A Consumer Access Specialist at AdventHealth's Free-Standing Emergency Department handles patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling at the 7000 E Hampden Ave location in Denver, Colorado. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all ED services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management on coverage issues - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Generate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans - Serve as a communication hub between clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support the patient experience - Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation, and provide PBX/switchboard coverage as needed ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred - Basic to intermediate medical terminology knowledge - Familiarity with insurance benefits, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office programs - Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $19.77–$31.64/hr ($41,122–$65,811 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Whole-person well-being and mental health support resources ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating hospitals and outpatient facilities across multiple states.
