About this role
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a full-time Phlebotomist / Laboratory Assistant II for day-shift morning hours (Fri–Mon, 4:00 am–2:30 pm) at its Shawnee Mission, Kansas campus.
### What you'll do
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections from patients across the facility.
- Conduct point-of-care testing including associated quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, and result documentation.
- Accession specimens, evaluate samples for proper submission, and document discrepancies in the laboratory information system.
- Collect and verify patient, physician, and test-order information to create and maintain accurate patient accounts.
- Support blood and blood-component processing, storing, and selection of compatible products using a validated Transfusion Information System.
- Provide departmental support including telephone coverage, clerical duties, and safe transport of hazardous waste per regulatory guidelines.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred.
- Minimum six months of relevant healthcare experience required.
- Phlebotomy Technician certification (PBT-ASCP) and/or Medical Lab Associate (MLA-ASCP) preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
- Ability to process specimens accurately using hospital and laboratory information systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently or within a team.

- Pay range: $16.89–$27.03/hr (~$35,131–$56,222 annualized).
