About this role

AdventHealth Daytona Beach is hiring a PRN Laboratory Assistant I supporting the Pathology department at its Daytona Beach, Florida campus. ### What you'll do - Perform cytopreparatory staining and accession surgical pathology cases using knowledge of anatomy - Receive, set up, and inoculate primary specimen cultures on petri dishes for bacterial growth - Clean and disinfect laboratory equipment and workspaces while maintaining inventory and supply stock - Participate in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities, including evaluation of new equipment and procedures - Provide customer service resolution within established guidelines and support education for clinical staff - Handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, and toxic chemicals safely and in accordance with protocol ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Technical aptitude related to laboratory procedures in the assigned department - Phlebotomy skills - Ability to perform waived testing with consistency, reliability, and integrity - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English - Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and electronic health record applications ### What's included - Pay range: $15.87–$25.38 per hour (~$33,010–$52,790 annualized) - PRN day-shift schedule providing scheduling flexibility - Access to AdventHealth's broader team member benefits program ### About the practice AdventHealth Daytona Beach is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care.
