About this role
AdventHealth Kissimmee is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU), working day shifts (0645–1915) in Kissimmee, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, and spiritual factors for each patient.
- Develop, implement, and regularly revise individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately per physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.
- Perform EKG interpretation as required by patient acuity and unit-specific protocols.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida — required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing — required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing — preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — required.
- At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting — preferred.
- Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) certification — preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills with the ability to apply abstract clinical reasoning.
