About this role

A Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) is needed for the Behavioral Geriatric Unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook in Bolingbrook, Illinois. ### What you'll do - Perform patient care treatments per policy, tailoring approach to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural background. - Assist in delivering bedside care under the direction of a registered nurse, including obtaining nursing histories and reporting abnormalities. - Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy. - Follow prescribed isolation protocols, use appropriate protective equipment, and enforce safety regulations. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team. - Maintain a clean, safe environment and respond appropriately in clinical emergencies. ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required). - Active BLS/CPR certification (required). - CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certification (at least one required). - 1+ years of PCT or applicable patient care experience (preferred). - Experience working with dementia or geriatric populations (preferred). - Prior bedside care experience in an acute care unit, or equivalent medical experience (preferred). ### What's included - Pay range: $17.17–$27.46/hour (~$35,714–$57,117 annualized). - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective from day one. - Paid time off from day one. - 403(b) retirement plan. - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support. ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook is a community hospital located at 500 Remington Blvd in Bolingbrook, Illinois, operating as part of the broader AdventHealth and UChicago Medicine partnership.
