About this role

AdventHealth Hendersonville is hiring a contract Registered Respiratory Therapist for night shifts (36 hrs/wk) at its hospital campus in Hendersonville, North Carolina. ### What you'll do - Deliver routine and continuous respiratory treatments including aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, lung expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene - Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation; determine or guide ventilator mode and settings, and facilitate the weaning process - Reevaluate the patient–ventilator interface at minimum every four hours, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot as needed - Draw and analyze arterial and capillary blood gases, place arterial lines, and recommend changes in respiratory management based on results - Monitor patient progress using pulse oximetry, peak flow, chest X-ray, and lab data; adjust plan of care per protocol and documented clinical criteria - Instruct and coach patients before, during, and after treatment across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations ### What we're looking for - Active RRT or CRT credential (state or NBRC) — required - Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program (Associate degree minimum) - BLS/CPR certification — required - Experience in critical care — 1+ year preferred - Proficiency in ventilator management and airway management across all served populations — preferred - Neonatal Med Certification (Neonatal Med) and S.T.A.B.L.E. certification — preferred ### What's included - Contract rate: $69.03/hr on night shifts (36 hrs/wk) - PRN/contract schedule with consistent night-shift hours ### About the practice AdventHealth Hendersonville is a community hospital located at 100 Hospital Drive in Hendersonville, NC, operating as part of the AdventHealth system.
