About this role
AdventHealth Winter Park is hiring a full-time Medical ICU Registered Nurse for day shifts at its 200 N Lakemont Avenue campus in Winter Park, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform comprehensive assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, and spiritual factors for high-acuity medical and surgical ICU patients.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care to support compliance and recovery.
- Collaborate with intensivists, medical staff, and ancillary departments to coordinate care and maintain effective communication.
- Document patient information, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license — required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing — required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing — preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — required.
- EKG interpretation skills (per unit credential grid requirements).
- 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting — preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills with ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.

AdventHealth Winter Park operates a 20-bed private-room Medical ICU with 24/7 on-site intensivist coverage and state-of-the-art equipment including ARJO ceiling lifts, bedside bikes, ocular technology, and dedicated bariatric suites. The unit is staffed by a cohesive, multidisciplinary team with dedicated preceptors who support both new and experienced nurses.
