About this role
AdventHealth Tampa is hiring a Manager of Sterile Processing to lead decontamination, sterilization, and instrument management operations at its Tampa, Florida hospital campus.
### What you'll do
- Plan, implement, and manage policies and quality assurance programs for acquisition, decontamination, storage, and sterilization of reusable surgical instrumentation and medical equipment.
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to supervisors, coordinators, and sterile processing technicians, including hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling.
- Serve as a subject matter resource to surgical services teams, OR staff, physicians, and system-wide committees on sterilization processes and product specifications.
- Maintain liaison with local, regional, and national regulatory agencies and sterile processing organizations to track current trends and ensure compliance with AAMI, IAHCSMM, OSHA, TJC, and AORN standards.
- Evaluate new products and patient care equipment through committee membership and ongoing standards review.
- Maintain record-keeping systems covering instrument processing, assembled trays, quality assurance, case carts, and materials output.
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as CST, CRCST, CSPDT, NTSC, RN, LPN, or LVN (one required at hire).
- Minimum 2 years of job-related sterile processing or surgical services experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical/vocational training preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of sterile processing principles, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology across multiple surgical specialties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with computerized instrument tracking systems preferred.
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Certified in Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) designation preferred.
