About this role
AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is hiring a full-time Charge Nurse for its Progressive Care and ICU unit, located in Lenexa, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate patient care across departments including PACU, inpatient units, Radiology, and anesthesia to ensure continuity and quality.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on ongoing patient assessments and medical orders, adjusting as patient status evolves.
- Supervise and direct nursing assistants and support staff, including performance appraisals and progressive discipline as needed.
- Manage daily staffing, scheduling, and supply utilization to support efficient unit operations.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff on procedures, equipment, and patient care standards; lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, attend and oversee codes per policy, and stabilize patients requiring immediate intervention.
### What we're looking for
- Current RN license in the state of Kansas.
- Demonstrated supervision experience in an inpatient or critical care nursing environment.
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to apply abstract reasoning to complex patient care scenarios.
- Proficiency navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs; Cerner experience preferred.
- Ability to lead a team, manage conflict, and collaborate with multidisciplinary providers including physicians and anesthesiologists.
- Commitment to fiscal accountability, including monitoring overtime, staffing hours, and supply costs in collaboration with unit leadership.
