About this role
AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is hiring a part-time Charge Nurse for its Progressive Care and ICU Weekend Work Program on the night shift in Lenexa, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate and oversee patient care across Progressive Care and ICU units, ensuring continuity and safety on night-weekend shifts.
- Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on ongoing patient assessments, acuity, and medical orders.
- Supervise nursing assistants and support staff, directing daily activities and evaluating performance against care standards.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff on procedures, equipment use, and patient care protocols.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, stabilizing patients and leading code response per policy.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with nurse leadership on department operations, staffing, and fiscal management.
### What we're looking for
- Current RN licensure in Kansas with maintained knowledge of Progressive Care and ICU nursing requirements.
- Demonstrated supervision experience and ability to lead a nursing team independently.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and high-level abstract reasoning to evaluate interventions and revise care plans.
- Proficiency in navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs; Cerner experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Maturity, emotional stability, and sound judgment when managing confidential information and complex patient/family situations.
