About this role
AdventHealth Lenexa City Center in Lenexa, Kansas is hiring a part-time Charge Nurse for its Progressive Care and ICU Weekend Work Program, covering day shifts on weekends.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate patient care across Progressive Care, ICU, PACU, Radiology, and anesthesia departments, adjusting care plans based on ongoing patient assessments.
- Supervise and direct nursing assistants and support staff, conduct performance appraisals, and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Prioritize patient needs by acuity and urgency, responding promptly to emergencies and providing immediate stabilization.
- Facilitate communication among physicians, anesthesiologists, and the broader care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Oversee daily scheduling, equipment availability, and supply utilization in collaboration with unit leadership.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-specific education and orientation programs.
### What we're looking for
- Current RN licensure in Kansas with broad clinical nursing knowledge in progressive care or critical care settings.
- Demonstrated supervision experience and ability to lead a team independently.
- Strong assessment, care-planning, and documentation skills, including the ability to adjust plans based on patient outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based programs; Cerner experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Mature judgment, emotional stability, and the ability to manage confidential information.
