About this role
A Cardiac Monitor Technician in the Emergency Department at AdventHealth Heart of Florida serves the inpatient and ED population at the Davenport, Florida campus by continuously observing telemetry monitors and communicating cardiac rhythm findings to the nursing team.
### What you'll do
- Observe telemetry monitors continuously, recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal EKG patterns
- Notify nursing staff promptly of any rhythm abnormalities or changes in patient status
- Maintain monitor alarms per policy, verify audibility each shift, and troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Document findings accurately and maintain the telemetry logbook in accordance with department policy
- Maintain telemetry printouts during cardiac arrests and as clinically indicated
- Participate in performance improvement activities and support departmental quality standards
### What we're looking for
- Monitor technician experience or successful completion of an AdventHealth Monitor Technician training program (or equivalent)
- Basic EKG course completion or equivalent arrhythmia identification knowledge
- BLS/CPR certification (required)
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and spoken communication)
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office familiarity
- Ability to complete competency skill check-off list within 90 days of hire
