About this role
AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is hiring a full-time Certified Sterile Processing Technician for the night shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) at its hospital in Wesley Chapel, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Select appropriate sterilization packaging and wrapping materials for each instrument set, verifying sterility indicators and lot stickers before release.
- Operate complex sterilization equipment, choosing the correct sterilization method per manufacturer instructions and reviewing all sterilizer recording charts.
- Decontaminate, disassemble, inspect, and reassemble surgical instruments and complex instrument sets, logging data in the computer tracking system or paper count sheets.
- Monitor sterilizer printouts, maintain required records, and document all sterilization activity in logbooks or computer systems.
- Execute the recall process for sterilization failures and escalate positive results to supervisors promptly.
- Rotate through decontamination, surgical tray assembly, sterilization, and equipment management areas as assigned.
### What we're looking for
- Active CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Tech) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) — required.
- Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience — required.
- High school diploma or equivalent — required; technical/vocational training in healthcare sterile processing preferred.
- Working knowledge of aseptic principles, microbiology fundamentals, and infection control as applied to sterile supply operations.
- Familiarity with instrument assembly/disassembly, cleaning requirements, and prevention of cross-contamination.
- BLS/CPR certification preferred.
