About this role
A full-time night-shift Registered Nurse is needed for the Behavioral Geriatric Treatment Unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Glenoaks in Glendale Heights, Illinois.
### What you'll do
- Perform and document initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical and mental status, and report findings to the responsible physician.
- Develop, prioritize, and document individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and significant others.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions and oxygen supplementation, and monitor patient lab work for trends.
- Supervise and guide licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care.
- Maintain a safe care environment using restraints and fall-risk precautions as appropriate for a behavioral geriatric population.
- Respond to unit and hospital code situations and assist physicians with bedside procedures per protocol.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- 1+ years of behavioral health nursing experience preferred.
- Experience working with a dementia or geriatric population preferred.
- NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program certification preferred.
