About this role
A School Behavioral Health Technician at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth supports students in grades 3–12 at AdventHealth GlenOaks School in Glendale Heights, Illinois during the academic year (August–May).
### What you'll do
- Assist students with activities of daily living in a classroom-based behavioral health setting
- Provide or support direct care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions
- Observe, document, and report changes in student behavior and condition
- Suggest modifications to individual student treatment plans as warranted
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with assigned students
- Communicate effectively with families, school staff, nurses, and physicians
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical/Vocational degree in a social science required
- Associate degree preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- CNA certification preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program certification preferred
- 1+ year of experience in a healthcare-related field preferred
