Consumer Access Specialist Part Time

A Consumer Access Specialist (Part-Time, Days) is needed at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach in New Smyrna Beach, Florida to support patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling functions. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management staff on pre-authorization issues - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Create accurate estimates of patient financial responsibility, collect payments, and establish payment plans - Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation - Manage communication across clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EMR) systems - Familiarity with insurance benefits, coverage interpretation, and pre-authorization processes - Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules, CMS guidelines, EMTALA, and related compliance requirements - Basic to intermediate medical terminology - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; strong written and verbal communication skills required ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour (~$34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from Day One - Paid Time Off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care.
