About this role
AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for its Urology clinic in Port Charlotte, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical intake including vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation
- Assist with minor urology procedures and ensure accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
- Administer medications, collect labs, initiate tests, and document results per policy
- Educate patients on tests, medications, and dietary instructions in clear, accurate terms
- Maintain OSHA compliance, safety protocols, and organizational policy standards
- Monitor and manage supply inventory and ensure medical equipment is functioning properly
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as a CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1+ year of related clinical work experience (preferred)
- Proficiency with medical terminology, chronic disease management concepts, and EMR systems
- Ability to work independently within certification scope in a fast-paced clinic environment
