About this role

A Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth serves patients at the Hinsdale, Illinois campus under the direction of registered nurses. ### What you'll do - Perform patient care treatments per policy, adapting to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural needs - Assist the nursing team with bedside care delivery, including obtaining nursing histories and reporting abnormal findings to the RN - Respond appropriately during clinical emergencies and support unit safety protocols - Follow isolation guidelines, use personal protective equipment correctly, and enforce infection-control standards - Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy - Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff while communicating effectively with patients, families, and the care team ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Minimum 1 year of PCT or equivalent acute-care bedside experience - Active BLS/CPR certification (required) - One of the following active credentials: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT - Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced emergency environment with rotating weekends and holidays ### What's included - Pay range: $17.17–$27.46/hr ($35,714–$57,117 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is a faith-based health system serving the western Chicago suburbs, with the Hinsdale campus located at 120 N Oak St. The Emergency Department operates around the clock, providing acute and emergency care to a diverse community.
