A Consumer Access Specialist (PRN) at AdventHealth Ocala handles patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling at the organization's Ocala, Florida campus. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management on coverage issues - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Create accurate estimates of patient financial responsibility; collect payments and establish payment plans - Manage communication across clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support the patient experience - Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation; provide PBX switchboard coverage as needed ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of customer service, relevant healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred - Basic to intermediate medical terminology and working knowledge of insurance benefits - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, database programs, and hospital EMR systems - Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA guidelines - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour (~$34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Weekend day shift schedule on a PRN basis ### About the practice AdventHealth Ocala is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, not-for-profit health network operating across multiple states.
