About this role
AdventHealth South Orlando is hiring a full-time Assistant Nurse Manager for its Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, deliver feedback, conduct appraisals, and implement improvement plans to uphold clinical standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing unit data and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Perform venous access procedures and oversee infusion therapy administration, adjusting care plans based on patient response.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients requiring venous access and infusion therapy.
- Mentor and precept new nursing staff through hands-on training and professional development support.
- Ensure unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies to maintain patient safety and service standards.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification — required.
- 1+ year of charge nurse or relevant nursing leadership experience — preferred.
- 1+ year of acute care nursing experience — preferred.
- CCNS or Certified Medical-Surgical RN certification — preferred.

### About the practice
AdventHealth South Orlando's Pediatric PCU is a 12-bed intermediate care unit serving complex pediatric patients — including post-operative cardiac monitoring cases, chronic pediatric conditions, and PICU step-down patients — at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 (adjustable to 2:1 by acuity).
