About this role
AdventHealth South Orlando is hiring a full-time Assistant Nurse Manager for its Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the night shift in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Oversee nursing staff performance on the Pediatric PCU during night shifts, providing feedback, conducting appraisals, and implementing improvement plans.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing unit data and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Perform and supervise venous access procedures and infusion therapy within RN scope of practice.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients requiring intermediate-level care.
- Mentor and precept new staff through hands-on training and professional development support.
- Ensure unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies to maintain patient safety standards.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- 1+ year of charge nurse or relevant nursing leadership experience (preferred).
- 1+ year of acute care nursing experience (preferred).
- Preferred certifications include CCNS, CRNI, CMSRN, or NRP-Advanced.

### About the practice
AdventHealth South Orlando operates a 12-bed Pediatric PCU providing intermediate-level care for complex and post-operative pediatric patients, including step-down transitions from the PICU. The unit maintains nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1, adjustable to 2:1 based on acuity, within a family-centered care model. AdventHealth is a faith-based, nonprofit health system with a broad presence across Central Florida.
