Weekend OR Scheduling Specialist

AdventHealth Ocala is hiring a full-time Weekend OR Scheduling Specialist to support operating room scheduling operations at its Ocala, Florida campus (Friday–Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM). ### What you'll do - Schedule patient appointments and OR cases using practice management software, following established procedures and standards - Greet patients and route incoming calls promptly, ensuring effective communication with patients, families, providers, and service representatives - Collaborate with physician offices to monitor resource utilization and coordinate quality care delivery - Maintain confidentiality of medical records and handle sensitive information in accordance with organizational and regulatory guidelines - Participate in patient outreach campaigns to schedule follow-up and wellness exam appointments - Process and distribute incoming and outgoing communications while keeping current on office software and equipment ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree in nursing, business, healthcare management, or related field (preferred) - Minimum 1 year of position-related experience (required); operating room scheduling experience (preferred) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), call center software, and practice management systems - Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone - Knowledge of medical terminology and general clerical skills - Ability to multitask, prioritize, and function effectively under high-stress or emergency conditions ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hr ($34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth Ocala is a full-service hospital located in Ocala, Florida, part of the AdventHealth system — one of the largest faith-based health networks in the United States.
