Surgical Aide II

A Surgical Aide II supports perioperative teams at AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Davenport, Florida, assisting with surgical case preparation, patient transport, and sterile field support under RN and surgeon direction. ### What you'll do - Monitor cases for infection control compliance, including correct opening of sterile supplies and identifying breaks in sterile technique - Prepare patients for procedures as directed by the RN and communicate pertinent patient information throughout the care continuum - Function as retractor, camera, or limb holder at the sterile field under direction of the RN, Scrub Tech, and/or Surgeon - Ensure safe transport, transfer, and positioning of patients using proper body mechanics while maintaining patient privacy and dignity - Manage accurate case picking, instrument preparation, and appropriate disposition of supplies, labs, and specimens - Support efficient OR turnovers using knowledge of cleaning protocols for specialty surgical equipment ### What we're looking for - BLS/CPR certification (required) - Knowledge of sterile technique and operating room environment - Experience working with patients in an acute care setting (preferred) - PCT experience relevant to the role (preferred) - High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) - Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to follow complex instructions ### What's included - Pay range: $15.31–$24.49/hour (~$31,845–$50,939 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth Heart of Florida is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based not-for-profit health network committed to whole-person care in body, mind, and spirit.
