About this role

AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Davenport, FL is hiring a full-time Surgical Aide II to support surgical teams in the operating room during day-shift procedures. ### What you'll do - Monitor cases for infection control compliance, including sterile supply handling and identifying breaks in sterile technique. - Assist with patient preparation, transport, transfer, and positioning using proper body mechanics while preserving patient dignity. - Function as retractor, camera, or limb holder at the sterile field under the direction of the RN, Scrub Tech, and/or Surgeon. - Maintain knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies needed for accurate case picking and preparation. - Manage appropriate disposition of supplies, labs, and specimens, and participate in specimen hand-off verification with laboratory personnel. - Support efficient and safe OR turnovers using knowledge of cleaning protocols for specialty surgical equipment. ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). - BLS/CPR certification (required). - Knowledge of sterile technique and the operating room environment. - Experience working with patients in an acute care or hospital setting (preferred). - PCT experience depending on role (preferred). - Strong written and verbal communication skills. ### What's included - Pay range: $15.31–$24.49/hour (~$31,845–$50,939 annually). - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one. - Paid time off from day one. - 403(b) retirement plan. - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support. ### About the practice AdventHealth Heart of Florida is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, nonprofit health network committed to whole-person care.
