A Certified Pharmacy Technician III role at AdventHealth Waterman serves the hospital pharmacy team in Tavares, Florida on a part-time day shift.
### What you'll do
- Independently prepare and dispense patient-specific medication doses, verifying drug, dose, dosage form, expiration dating, and barcode accuracy
- Compound and manage sterile and hazardous medication preparations — including chemotherapy — in compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards
- Conduct controlled substance audits, reconciliation, and diversion prevention; manage perpetual inventory counts and cold chain custody
- Lead hazardous medication handling practices including spill response, PPE training, and environmental safety audits
- Troubleshoot and optimize pharmacy automation systems, automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), and software platforms
- Mentor pharmacy technicians, support onboarding and competency validation, and contribute to quality improvement and educational initiatives
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credentials — both required
- Minimum 1 year of contemporary hospital, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Competence in aseptic technique, hazardous drug compounding, and USP 795/797/800 standards preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pharmacist supervision
