Phlebotomist

A full-time Phlebotomist at AdventHealth serves patients at the AHMG Pavilion Westchase outpatient clinic located at 10987 Sheldon Road, Tampa, FL 33626. ### What you'll do - Collect blood specimens via phlebotomy and skin puncture across all patient age groups - Receive, process, centrifuge, aliquot, and transport patient specimens to testing departments - Load preanalytical instruments and perform point-of-care testing including quality control, maintenance, and result documentation - Verify patient identification, insurance, and test order information to create and maintain accurate patient accounts - Follow all safety protocols including PPE use, handwashing, chemical hygiene, and infection control policies - Support department operations through clerical duties, telephone answering, inventory control, and supply stocking ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred - Demonstrated phlebotomy skills (required) - Strong customer service and professional communication skills in English (required) - Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and electronic health record applications - Ability to handle infectious specimens, caustic chemicals, and hazardous waste safely and appropriately - Phlebotomy Technician (PBT-ASCP) or Medical Lab Associate (MLA-ASCP) certification preferred ### What's included - Pay range: $15.87–$25.38/hour ($32,970–$52,790 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care. The Westchase outpatient pavilion in Tampa provides accessible ambulatory services to the surrounding community. This role works a Monday–Friday day shift (7:30 AM–4:00 PM) with every other Saturday.
