A PRN Operating Room RN role at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, Illinois, supporting surgical patients across day-shift procedures.
### What you'll do
- Assess patients preoperatively and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary surgical team.
- Maintain a sterile field and enforce infection-prevention protocols throughout each procedure.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately per prescribed protocols, including IV placement and specimen collection.
- Monitor patient progress continuously during and after procedures, adjusting care plans to optimize outcomes.
- Document all care activities in the EMR to ensure accurate, up-to-date medical records.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Illinois.
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical experience.
- BLS (CPR) certification required.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR charting systems.
- CNOR, PALS, or NRP certification preferred.
### What's included
- Hourly pay range: $35.19–$62.17 (annualized $73,195–$129,314 at 2,080 hours).
- PRN schedule with day-shift availability.
- Additional licensure or certification support depending on unit assignment.
