Surgical Aide - Part Time - Call Required

A part-time Surgical Aide position is open at AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen, TX, supporting the operating room team across a range of surgical specialties. ### What you'll do - Monitor cases for infection control compliance, including correct opening of sterile supplies and identifying breaks in sterile technique - Assist with patient preparation, transport, transfer, and positioning using proper body mechanics while maintaining patient privacy and dignity - Function in the role of retractor, camera, or limb holder at the sterile field under the direction of the RN, Scrub Tech, and/or Surgeon - Perform case picking and preparation by maintaining knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for each procedure - Ensure appropriate handling and disposition of supplies, labs, and specimens, and participate in hand-off communication with laboratory personnel - Support efficient OR turnovers using knowledge of cleaning protocols for specialty surgical equipment ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) - Current BLS/CPR certification (required) - Knowledge of sterile technique and operating room environment - Prior experience in sterile environments, PCT role, or acute care hospital setting (preferred) - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to follow instructions and carry out procedures with accuracy ### What's included - Pay range: $16.37–$26.19/hour (~$34,050–$54,475 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth Central Texas is a faith-based, mission-driven hospital located in Killeen, Texas, part of the broader AdventHealth system.
