About this role

AdventHealth Orlando is hiring a full-time Emergency Dispatch Communications Specialist for its EMS Dispatch Communications Center in Orlando, Florida. ### What you'll do - Answer incoming emergency calls, collect patient information, and enter data accurately into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system - Maintain the CAD log with patient demographics and time-stamped events in compliance with department protocols - Coordinate with the Dispatch Supervisor to assign appropriate transport resources - Relay patient status updates to medical control, transport teams, sending and receiving facilities, and accepting physicians - Monitor all radio traffic, respond to pre-alerts, and update unit statuses in real time - Support training and mentoring of new dispatch staff and participate in ongoing staff meetings ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Proficient verbal, written, and computer skills with demonstrated ability in real-time electronic documentation - Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced, high-stress environment - 1+ year of relevant communications center experience (preferred) - EMT certification or Paramedic licensure (preferred) - Familiarity with medical terminology, coding, or health insurance authorization processes (preferred) ### What's included - Pay range: $19.23–$30.77/hour (~$40,000–$64,000 annually) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources, well-being support, and pet benefits ### About the practice AdventHealth Orlando is a faith-based, mission-driven health system operating one of the largest hospital campuses in the southeastern United States.
