About this role
AdventHealth Riverview is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist III (RRT III) for PRN night shifts at its acute care hospital in Riverview, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, determining ventilator modes and settings, and reassessing the patient-ventilator interface every four hours.
- Draw and analyze arterial blood gases, place arterial lines, and adjust respiratory management based on results.
- Adjust therapy protocols using pulse oximetry, peak flow, chest X-ray, and laboratory data across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Respond to emergencies, including airway establishment, maintenance, and CPR.
- Support cardiopulmonary diagnostics: cardiac stress testing, Holter monitors, ECGs, pulmonary function testing, and bedside bronchoscopy procedures.
- Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor, providing training to cardiopulmonary staff and supervising student programs.
### What we're looking for
- Active RRT credential from the NBRC and Florida state Registered Respiratory Therapist license.
- Minimum 3 years of hospital experience as an RRT, with expertise in blood gas laboratory management.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (all required).
- Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program; Associate degree required, Bachelor's preferred in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Science.
- Demonstrated proficiency in intubation, airway management, and ventilator management across all patient populations.
- Exceptional clinical skills with leadership potential and strong communication and documentation habits.
### What's included
- Pay range: $26.08–$48.50 per hour ($54,246–$100,880 annualized equivalent).
- PRN/per-diem scheduling on night shift with flexibility for the role holder.
- NBRC credential maintenance supported as a condition of role eligibility.
