Consumer Access Specialist Overnight

A Consumer Access Specialist (Overnight) at AdventHealth Meadow Woods ER handles patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling for an emergency facility in Orlando, Florida. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management on coverage issues - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Create accurate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans - Manage communication across clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience - Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation, and provide PBX switchboard coverage as needed ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of experience in customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle preferred - Basic to intermediate knowledge of medical terminology and insurance benefit interpretation - Familiarity with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications - Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $34,590–$55,328 annually ($16.63–$26.60/hr) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one and 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - 403(b) retirement plan - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth Meadow Woods ER is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based not-for-profit health system serving communities across the United States with a mission centered on whole-person care.
