Referral Specialist

A Referral Specialist position is open with AdventHealth at their Care Pavilion location in Ocala, Florida, supporting physician office operations through referral coordination and insurance authorization. ### What you'll do - Process and manage referral orders, ensuring all orders meet insurance authorization requirements - Answer incoming calls promptly, assist patients with questions, and schedule procedures as needed - Check voicemail and faxes regularly; sort authorizations and denials in a timely manner - Communicate clearly with patients, physicians, and coworkers to maintain referral integrity - Apply ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding knowledge to verify order compliance with payer requirements - Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, provider, and organizational information ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - 1+ years of ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding experience (preferred) - Administrative, clerical, or healthcare/call center experience (preferred) - Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Knowledge of medical terminology, telephone protocol, and patient database systems - Ability to manage complex customer situations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour (~$34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, and vision insurance effective Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Pet benefits and whole-person well-being resources ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states, with a mission centered on whole-person care — body, mind, and spirit.
