About this role
AdventHealth Porter is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Charge Nurse for day-shift inpatient nursing leadership at its Denver, Colorado facility.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate and oversee patient care across inpatient behavioral health units, collaborating with physicians, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized care plans based on ongoing patient assessments and medical orders.
- Supervise and direct nursing assistants and support staff, completing performance appraisals and applying progressive discipline when warranted.
- Manage daily unit scheduling, staffing levels, and equipment availability to ensure timely, acuity-appropriate care.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff on procedures, equipment, and patient care standards while facilitating communication across the care team.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with leadership on department policies, fiscal management, and operational excellence.
### What we're looking for
- Current RN licensure in Colorado (or compact eligibility).
- Demonstrated supervision or charge nurse experience in an inpatient or behavioral health setting.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment, care planning, and accurate electronic medical record documentation; Cerner experience preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, and prioritization skills suitable for a high-acuity environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; additional languages a plus.
