About this role
AdventHealth South Overland Park is hiring a full-time Float RN for night shift at its hospital campus in Overland Park, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Float to appropriate departments within scope, skills, and credentials, delivering safe and therapeutic nursing care across units.
- Perform and document initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and implement individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications accurately per physician orders, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as needed.
- Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries.
- Monitor lab trends, interpret EKGs, and report abnormal findings to the care team promptly.
- Respond to emergencies by coordinating with the healthcare team to stabilize patients and document all care accurately in the EMR.
### What we're looking for
- Active RN license in Kansas; BLS/CPR certification required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 1+ years of acute care hospital experience preferred.
- Proficiency with clinical equipment including IV insertion, central lines, pulse oximetry, NG tubes, Foley catheters, chest tubes, hemodynamic monitoring, and Pyxis.
- EKG interpretation skills and ability to complete EKG training per unit requirements.
- Strong critical thinking, independent clinical judgment, and ability to prioritize multiple duties in high-acuity situations.
