About this role

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a full-time night-shift Pharmacy Technician II at its hospital campus in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. ### What you'll do - Accurately prepare and dispense patient-specific medication doses, verifying drug, dose, dosage form, expiration date, and barcode scanning - Compound sterile IV solutions and piggyback containers under aseptic conditions following USP <795> and <797> guidelines - Manage automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), pharmacy software, and medication automation systems across central, decentralized, and cleanroom practice areas - Maintain inventory accuracy by receiving and rotating stock, removing expired medications, and managing controlled substances per regulatory standards - Identify and report potential medication errors, including look-alike/sound-alike risks, supporting a culture of safety - Assist with compliance documentation, quality improvement initiatives, and peer mentorship ### What we're looking for - Active Kansas Pharmacy Technician registration (RPhT) required - Minimum 1 year of hospital, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy experience - High school diploma or equivalent - Proficiency in sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, and ADC management - Ability to work effectively across shifts with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals ### What's included - Pay range: $37,752–$60,403 annually ($18.15–$29.04/hr) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is a full-service acute care hospital located at 9100 W 74th St in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, part of the AdventHealth system.
